1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Sigma Sigma Holdings LLC d/b/a Surf Score (“Surf Score,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects information when you use Surf Score, surfscoreapp.com, our web app, the Surf Score iOS app when available, and related services.
Surf Score lets users upload public surfing videos, receive entertainment-only algorithmic scores, and post videos and scores to leaderboards visible to other Surf Score app users.
2. Information We Collect
A. Account and Profile Information
- name;
- username;
- email address;
- profile photo;
- account login information;
- account settings;
- parent or guardian contact and consent information, where required.
B. User Content
- raw surf videos;
- video thumbnails or previews;
- profile content;
- reports or complaints;
- communications with us;
- other content you submit through the Service.
Videos may show faces, bodies, surfboards, beaches, ocean conditions, surrounding people, and other visible details.
C. Scores and Leaderboard Information
- uploaded video score;
- leaderboard ranking;
- scoring-related indicators such as wave height, turns, speed, style, ride length, difficulty, completion, and related performance measurements;
- upload date and related activity;
- associated username, profile photo, and video.
Scores are for entertainment only.
D. Device, App, and Technical Information
- device type;
- operating system;
- browser type;
- app version;
- IP address;
- crash logs;
- performance data;
- authentication events;
- security logs;
- device identifiers or similar identifiers;
- metadata associated with video files or app activity.
The scoring algorithm may run on your device. Depending on the feature, certain processing may happen locally on your device, and certain information may be uploaded to our systems to operate the Service.
E. Payment Information
If you purchase tokens, subscriptions, or paid features, payment information may be processed by Stripe, Apple, or another payment provider.

We do not intend to store full credit-card numbers on our own servers.
F. Firebase and Analytics Information
We use Firebase for app infrastructure, storage, authentication, analytics, performance, crash reporting, and related services. Firebase may collect technical and usage information depending on how it is configured, such as device information, app events, crash data, and usage analytics.
We do not currently use third-party advertising or targeted advertising.
G. Beach Names
We may collect or display beach names or surf spot names connected to uploads or leaderboard entries. We do not intend to collect precise GPS location.
3. Information We Do Not Intend to Collect
- precise GPS location;
- Social Security numbers;
- government ID numbers, unless needed for age or parent verification;
- health information;
- biometric identifiers used to identify a person;
- payment-card numbers stored directly by Surf Score;
- personal data for targeted advertising or sale.
Videos may show a person’s face or body, but Surf Score does not intend to use videos for biometric identification.
4. How We Use Information
- create and manage accounts;
- authenticate users;
- allow video uploads;
- generate entertainment-only surf scores;
- display videos, scores, profiles, and leaderboards;
- process tokens, subscriptions, and payments;
- provide free weekly uses;
- operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- store and deliver videos through Firebase or similar providers;
- detect bugs, crashes, abuse, fraud, and security issues;
- enforce our Terms, Community Guidelines, and copyright rules;
- review reports and remove prohibited content;
- respond to users, parents, guardians, and rightsholders;
- comply with legal obligations;
- protect the rights, safety, and security of Surf Score, users, minors, and the public.
5. Public Information
Surf Score is a public leaderboard and video-sharing service within the app. The following information may be visible to other Surf Score app users:
- username;
- profile photo;
- uploaded surf videos;
- scores;
- leaderboard ranking;
- beach name or surf spot name;
- upload date or similar activity information;
- other profile or public activity information.
Do not upload videos or profile information that you do not want other app users to see.
6. How We Share Information
A. Other App Users
Videos, usernames, profile photos, scores, leaderboard rankings, and related public information are shared with other Surf Score app users.
B. Service Providers
We may share information with companies that help us operate the Service, including Firebase, cloud hosting providers, authentication providers, storage providers, analytics providers, crash-reporting providers, customer support tools, and payment processors such as Stripe.
C. Payment Providers
Payment providers process purchases, subscriptions, fraud prevention, refunds, and chargebacks.
D. Legal, Safety, and Rights Protection
- comply with law, subpoena, court order, or legal process;
- respond to law enforcement or government requests;
- protect minors or other users;
- investigate unsafe, fraudulent, abusive, or illegal conduct;
- enforce our Terms;
- protect our rights, property, safety, or security;
- respond to copyright or other rights complaints.
E. Business Transfers
If Surf Score is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, asset sale, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
7. No Sale or Targeted Advertising
We do not currently sell personal information.
We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.
We do not currently show third-party ads in the Service.
If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required notices or choices.
8. Children's Privacy
Surf Score is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the Service.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information and terminate the account. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact dingrepairsd@gmail.com so we can take appropriate action.
Minors between 13 and the age of majority in their jurisdiction (typically 18) may use Surf Score only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians may contact dingrepairsd@gmail.com to:
- review personal information collected from their minor;
- request deletion of their minor's account, videos, scores, or personal information;
- refuse further collection or use of their minor's personal information;
- report a video or account involving a minor.
Parents and guardians should understand that Surf Score videos are public within the app. If a minor uploads a video, that video may show the minor’s face, body, surfing performance, beach name, and other identifiable information.
9. California Privacy Notice
This section applies to California residents to the extent California privacy law applies to Surf Score.
Categories of Personal Information We May Collect
- identifiers, such as name, username, email address, account ID, IP address, and device identifiers;
- customer records, such as purchase or subscription records;
- internet or electronic network activity, such as app usage, crash logs, authentication events, and interactions with the Service;
- audio, electronic, visual, or similar information, such as uploaded surf videos and profile photos;
- geolocation-related information at the beach-name or surf-spot-name level, but not precise GPS location unless we update this policy;
- inferences or scoring-related information generated from surf videos for entertainment-only scoring;
- sensitive personal information only if required for login credentials, payment processing, or parent/guardian verification, and only as needed for the Service.
Purposes for Collection
We collect personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including operating the Service, displaying public videos and leaderboards, processing payments, security, moderation, legal compliance, and customer support.
California Privacy Rights
- know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share;
- access personal information;
- delete personal information;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of sale or sharing of personal information;
- limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, where applicable;
- not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Parents or guardians may submit requests on behalf of minors where legally permitted or required.
Because Surf Score does not currently sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, we do not currently provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link. If our practices change, we will update this notice.
10. Retention
- Account information is kept while the account is active and as needed to operate the Service.
- Uploaded videos remain available until the user deletes them, the account is deleted, we remove them, or retention is no longer legally or operationally appropriate.
- Leaderboard scores remain while the associated video remains available, unless removed for moderation, technical, legal, or safety reasons.
- Payment and subscription records may be kept as required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, chargebacks, and legal compliance.
- Security logs, backups, and technical records may be kept for a limited period.
- Children's personal information will not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Deletion may not be immediate in backups, caches, logs, or third-party systems, but we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify information according to our normal processes and legal obligations.
11. Account and Video Deletion
Users may delete videos and accounts if those features are available in the Service, or by contacting dingrepairsd@gmail.com.
When a video is deleted, Surf Score intends to remove the related leaderboard score from public display.
We may retain certain information if necessary for legal compliance, security, dispute resolution, payment records, fraud prevention, moderation records, or enforcement of our Terms.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.
No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorization.
13. International Users
Surf Score is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
By using the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or by another reasonable method.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
